Success in the course is based on participation and completion of all required assignments.Acceptance or refusal in the course is at the discretion of the Canadian Police College.Registrants must have successfully completed the Tactical Analysis Intelligence Course (TIAC).those assigned to strategic intelligence analysis activities.full time analysts or supervisors of intelligence analysis units from accredited police departments or a Criminal Intelligence Service Canada agency (Category 2 or 3).Ability to report the findings and results of a strategic intelligence assessment to clients.Ability to analyse quantifiable and non-quantifiable data using select analytical techniques.Understanding collation methods suitable for different types of data and evaluate information in a strategic intelligence analysis project.Ability to plan a strategic intelligence analysis project and create a project plan.Ability to conceptualize the "crime problem" and create corresponding research questions.Format and delivery Length of course 10 days Class size maximum 24 students Delivery setting theoretical components are offered in classroom practical components are done in syndicate rooms Learning outcomes The course examines how to plan, collect, evaluate, collate, analyse and report information that enhance the quality of intelligence products. This course prepares students to analyse issues in a systematic way and to produce valid and actionable strategic intelligence products. Law enforcement and other agencies use strategic intelligence assessments for a variety of purposes that include determining threat levels, setting priorities, planning, and influencing operations.
